The Viah Guide was born of a long search. For years, every engagement season began the same way: looking for a place that understood South Asian weddings as we knew them, the five-day celebrations, the three hundred guests, the ceremonies handed down through grandmothers, and showed them with the care they deserved. We never found it.

What we found, every time, was the same grid. A thousand thumbnails. A crown in the logo and “number one platform” in the bio. Venues from six countries stacked beside a lehenga from a store that closed in 2019. We would scroll for an hour, save nothing, and close the app feeling slightly worse about a wedding we hadn’t planned yet.

In 2023, we built what we had been looking for.

The Viah Guide is a female-led creative studio devoted entirely to weddings. We did not set out to publish less. We set out to leave you less to sift through: one considered place where every photograph, every vendor and every story has been chosen by hand, so that when something stops you here, it is because it deserves to.

Our directory holds the vendors we would book for our own families. Photographers whose work we would frame. Decorators who deliver precisely what the moodboard promised. Makeup artists still composed at dawn on the fourth day. Each has been seen, met and vetted before their name appears, which is why the directory reads less like a listing and more like a recommendation from a friend who has been to a great many weddings.

Our features are love stories in the truest sense: real weddings told in the couple’s own words, with the photographs they return to again and again. And our pages of inspiration hold only what made us pause, gathered in one place, so that a saved folder can once more be a pleasure rather than a burden.

Then there is planning, which is all of this, brought to life for you. Led by our founder from the first conversation to the final event, we take on a small number of weddings each year, across Canada and abroad, so that each one receives the attention it deserves. We carry every vendor, every timeline and every detail, and we are in the room for every event, so that you may be a guest at your own wedding.

Behind all of it is the knowledge that does not photograph. Years of learning who answers at midnight and who goes quiet after the deposit, who delivers early, who can hold three hundred people silent for a vow. We have met the ordinary, at length, so that you need never encounter it. When you plan with us, that judgement becomes yours.

We publish only what moves us and plan only what we can do beautifully. There is nothing here you need to scroll past.
