The Wedding Story of Pola and Raman Sahota

Pola and Raman’s story isn’t the kind you skim past—it’s the kind you stop and smile at, because it’s so unapologetically them.
Pola was mindlessly scrolling on TikTok when Raman’s video popped up. He didn’t just casually like one or two posts—he liked all of them. Weeks passed, and Pola knew he had to take a chance. He found her on Instagram, hit "follow," and sent her a DM that would change everything. Little did he know, this was just the beginning of a love story worth telling.
When Raman finally noticed Pola’s follow and his DM, she replied—and the rest is history. One message turned into hours of conversation, which turned into daily hangouts. Before they knew it, they were inseparable—each other’s go-to for everything.
It didn’t take Raman long to realize how special Pola was. He’s the kind of guy who walks into a room and instantly lights it up, making everyone laugh and feel like they’re part of the moment. As Raman says, “Once you meet Pola, you’re never forgetting him.”
And Pola? He was absolutely obsessed with everything about Raman—her humor, her energy, and the way she just got him.
Pola and Raman just worked. You know that feeling when everything clicks, and it’s like, "Yeah, this feels right"? That was them. So, when Pola realized Raman was the one, he started planning a surprise proposal at Sparkling Hill, disguised as a birthday getaway for Raman. To pull it off, he teamed up with Raman’s cousin Asia, who offered to "gift" Raman a photoshoot for her birthday. Raman had no idea what was really going on—she thought it was just another fun trip.
On the big day, Raman got annoyed because Pola seemed unprepared, not realizing it was all part of his secret plan. Pola stayed calm, acting casual, which helped Raman relax and let her guard down.
During the photoshoot, Pola couldn’t take his eyes off her. He looked at her with so much love that even Raman noticed. “What?” she teased. “Are you about to propose or something?” (Spoiler: YES. HE. WAS.) Pola knew this was the moment. He got down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and asked her to marry him.
Raman was shocked at first, thinking it was some kind of joke. But when she realized it was real, she was speechless. And when the moment finally sank in, she said yes to forever. It was romantic, surprising, and just a little chaotic—basically everything that makes Pola and Raman’s love story so perfectly them.
Then came the wedding planning—a journey that took about a year to pull together. Raman shares, “If it wasn’t for Pola, the wedding planning would’ve been 100 times harder! Having a partner who fully immersed himself in the process made everything so much easier.”
Their approach was all about locking down the big stuff first. Within the first two months, they had their main vendors secured: venues, videography and photography, décor, and catering. With those essentials locked in, everything else fell into place smoothly.
Raman also took a chance on some newer vendors, and it paid off. “I found the newer vendors to be more responsive, caring, and genuinely excited than some of the more established ones,” she says.
Unlike some brides who stress over every little detail, Raman kept things simple when it came to themes and colors. Instead of micromanaging every element, she decided on a single décor setup for the entire week of home events—a decision that, she says, worked out better than she expected.
One of Raman’s favorite parts of planning? Choosing all her looks. Since she did all her shopping locally in Surrey, the process felt smooth and stress-free.
Of course, no wedding is complete without an amazing vendor team. Some of Raman’s absolute favorites included:
Jayna Marie: “Hands down the best makeup artist in the game and hype woman ever!”
Ruha Décor: “They went above and beyond for all our events and gave an amazing price.”
Pav Sidhu Artistry: “She is going to be my forever make up artist for any upcoming events, she’s the best!!”
When Raman thinks back to her wedding week, one moment stands out above all others—an emotional and bittersweet memory that she’ll carry with her forever. Her grandfather, who had been so excited for her and Pola’s wedding, had fallen ill just weeks before the wedding week began. By the time the wedding week rolled around, he was in the hospital and unable to attend the events as planned.
Determined to include him in any way possible, Raman and her family decided to bring a piece of the wedding to him. They went to the hospital for her maiyan ceremony with her grandfather by her side. “It was such a sad but heartfelt moment,” Raman shares. “He was so excited for the wedding, and we wanted to make sure he felt included in whatever way we could.” And there was her suit. Raman chose to wear her grandmother’s— a piece of her history wrapped in love. “She passed away a while back, but me and her were very, very close, so it was in memory of her,” she says.
And then, the best part: her grandpa recovered enough to make it home for the wedding morning. “It felt like such a blessing,” she says. Having him there made everything feel complete for Raman, Pola, and the entire family.
Their wedding wasn’t just an event; it was an experience. An ode to their journey, their families, and the community that shaped them. They didn’t try to follow trends or check off every box on someone else’s list. Instead, they trusted themselves, embraced the quirks, and leaned into the beauty of imperfection. And isn’t that what love is about?
As Raman puts it, “My advice is to just roll with it! Things will ALWAYS go wrong during the planning of a wedding, and during the actual wedding week! Remember you only do this once. Be nice to yourself, your parents, siblings, family, and friends. The wedding week is a moment you see all your loved ones in a room together, and you may never get this moment again. So please enjoy it, say ‘I love you’ often, and get ready to embark on a new journey with your husband!”
Here’s to Pola and Raman: a love story that reminds us all to focus on what really matters and to always create a life that feels as beautiful as the people who share it with us.
