Their love story began in the hallways of high school, almost sixteen years ago. Nav reflects, "We met in grade 9 - almost 16 years ago! Gagan was very shy and never spoke to anyone, but could not resist my charm."
Their first "unofficial" date, a simple trip to the movies to watch Pink Panther, was filled with moments of innocence and laughter. Nav shares, "I remember trying to hold Gagan's hand, but she refused. Looking back, it was sort of creepy," he jokes.
Despite the initial hesitations, their bond grew stronger over the years. "A couple of years later, she finally did [hold my hand], and the rest is history!" Nav shares.

After fourteen years of dating, Nav decided it was time to take their relationship to the next level. In 2021, the couple travelled to Greece, exploring Santorini and Mykonos despite the challenges of planning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Planning was tricky, but Nav managed to keep the ring hidden in a GoPro case until they reached Santorini.
On a beautiful rooftop overlooking the sea in Santorini, Nav surprised Gagan with a heartfelt proposal. With a photographer nearby, he got down on one knee and asked the question. Gagan's response? A mix of surprise and humor, saying, "It's about time!"
Following the proposal, Nav and Gagan embarked on a year-long journey to plan their wedding with the assistance of Elsa and Maria from Palms Wedding and Events in Los Cabos. Opting for a destination wedding, they fondly recall it as "the best decision we made! Everyone in the family got to enjoy every event instead of running around and prepping for the wedding." They explain, "We had select vendors we wanted to take with us from Vancouver but the rest were all local. Majority of our wedding was planned virtually, from our outfits to the venue." Notably, they chose Amrit Photography from Vancouver for their photography needs, along with Turban Tying Surrey and DJ Impact from Decibel Entertainment.
Nav and Gagan celebrated three official events—the maiyan, wedding, and reception.
However, as they reminisce, "Living on the resort together with everyone made everyday an event! People were free to enjoy their vacation plus our wedding." Reflecting on their favorite moment, they single out the wedding day, particularly the lavaan ceremony. "To pick one, I think it was our lavaan under the sun with the waves crashing, just the feeling in the moment was something else."
When it came to their attire, Gagan humorously admits, "Between the two of us, Nav is the princess; he took his sweet time deciding on his outfits." Meanwhile, she had meticulously planned her reception and wedding attire a year in advance, stating, "All I knew is I wanted to wear a red lehenga for my wedding and a white dress for my reception, something I could never wear again at other occasions."
On the wedding day, Gagan dazzled in a custom Rimple and Harpreet lehenga, accentuated with jewelry from Lakhewale Jewelers and Jiji Studio. Nav's attire was equally impeccable, donning a custom suit from Sawang & Dhiofficial.
For the reception, Gagan opted for a dress from Everly Bridal, while Nav wore a custom suit from Modello Bespoke.
From the heartfelt proposal overlooking the Santorini sea to the serene lavaan ceremony amidst crashing waves, every moment has been a testament to their enduring love. Offering advice to new couples, they emphasize, "ENJOY IT! We loved how everything turned out, we enjoyed our time with our guests and with each other. Go with your gut decision! In the end, it's all about you and your partner."
