The Wedding Story of Davneet Dhillon & Pawan Janjua

Their love story began 10 years ago. Davneet and Pawan met after high school, bonding instantly over their love for music. “I remember sending songs back and forth and that was our love language at that time,” recalls Davneet. Pawan, the introvert, found his perfect counterpart in Davneet, the extrovert, who admits, “together we're the perfect balance. I keep him wild, he keeps me sane.”

Pawan's proposal plan took an unexpected turn when a hot air balloon ride, planned for the occasion, got cancelled.

“Our proposal story is a bit funny. We were in Scottsdale, Arizona and Pawan told me that we had to sleep on time one night because we’re doing something fun in the morning... EARLY in the morning. He wanted me to wake up at 5 AM and be ready to go by 6 AM and all I could think was WHY?! If anyone knows me, they know I hate surprises, so I managed to get it out of him and I just knew there was a proposal coming the next morning... what I didn’t know was that it was happening on a hot air balloon and oh man... another thing about me, I HATE Hot Air Balloons. I’m so afraid- but leave it to my genius older cousin to give Pawan that idea and let him run with it. As I woke up the next morning about to get out of bed, dreading the anxiety of thinking of going on a hot air balloon... the place called Pawan and CANCELLED! It was meant to be. And best of all, I found out later that my actual engagement ring wasn’t done yet so he was going to propose with a similar ring ‘a borrowed ring’, which would’ve been totally fine, but at that moment I would rather have the proposal be something that wouldn’t cause me anxiety.”

However, the true magic happened later in Squamish, BC, where the couple shared a serene moment overlooking the ocean and mountains. With their closest friends by their side, the proposal was simple and heartfelt, perfectly reflecting their relationship.

Opting for a destination wedding, Davneet and Pawan chose the picturesque setting of Hard Rock Cabo, Mexico.

“The older we got, the more we realized we just wanted to get married with our nearest and dearest by our sides, which is why we opted for a destination wedding, and what better place to get married at than with the ocean and palm trees near you? Hello CABO!” Davneet shares.

“We heard amazing things about Hard Rock Resort in Cabo, and it truly did not disappoint. It was the best decision we made. It took us a good year to plan our wedding. The biggest challenge is of course planning a destination wedding, especially now that there is so much controversy around it. We're so happy we had a smooth planning process with both the hotel and our vendors.

Our favorite part of the planning process was probably how each planning day would turn into our families being together and celebrating the process with us. When I say champagne was popped for every occasion, I mean it! The day I got my wedding dress, pop the champagne, the day I went for my fittings, pop the champagne! We had so much fun with the planning.”
